How do you handle clients who want to negotiate after seeing the proposal?

I've been using the calculator for a few weeks now and my proposals look much better. But some clients still try to negotiate the price down. How do you handle this without losing the deal?

Switched from handwritten quotes to structured proposals — here's what happened

I used to send quotes via WhatsApp. Just a number and a description. Since I started using the proposal system with proper scope, terms, and pricing tiers, my close rate went from about 30% to over 60%. Clients take me more seriously now. The biggest change was adding terms and conditions — it filters out clients who aren't serious.

What profit margin do you typically add for IT consulting?

I'm an IT consultant and I'm struggling with setting the right profit margin. The calculator asks for it but I'm not sure what's standard in the industry. I've been using 15% but it feels low. What do others in tech/IT use?

How the scope boundary statement saved me from unpaid extra work

A client hired me for interior design of their office. Halfway through, they wanted me to also handle the furniture procurement — which was never in the original scope. Because my proposal clearly stated 'Only items explicitly listed above are included', I was able to create a separate proposal for the additional work. Before, I would have just done it for free to keep the client happy. Now I get paid for every piece of work.

Do you send proposals as PDF or use the share link?

Curious what others prefer. I've been using the PDF download but I noticed there's also a share link option. Which one do your clients respond better to?
